Public Access Television
Manistee’s TV2/98 is a "not for profit" organization. In other words, we do not have commercials or paid programming to support our operations. Instead, we depend on contributions from a variety of sources, all of which, because of MPA-TV2/98 non-profit status, may be tax deductible.
At present, sponsorship and underwriting donations - from businesses, groups and individuals - comprise a significant part of our budget and are vital to the continued operation of the station.
What is the difference between sponsors and underwriters?
Sponsors may decide to support a specific program or type of programming, e.g., Basketball, Football, Music, etc. They may also donate equipment instead of money as long as the equipment is approved by the Executive Director and necessary for the operation of the station.
Underwriting monies, on the other hand, go into our ‘general fund’ which is used to purchase equipment, supplies, cameras, microphones, tape decks, or any of the supplies we need. You may also choose to donate equipment in this category as well, with prior approval.

SILVER - $250
Your business or name will be displayed for three months on the scroll and/or on a specific program/venue or sponsorship
GOLD - $500
Your business or name will be displayed for six months on the scroll and/or on a specific program/venue or sponsorship
PLATINUM - $1,000
or MoreYour business or name will be displayed for an entire year on the scroll and/or on a specific program/venue or sponsorship
What Else Should I Know?
While TV2/98 cannot advertise for you, the FCC allows us to display a
generalized statement that gives your business name, a photo of your business
and what you do, as well as an
